The Hope Team is formed by a bunch of guys from Ecuador
and Brazil that have a special taste for extreme sports and adventure.

"We have committed ourselves to take part in and support this charity event by
crossing South America from coast to coast driving a Volkswagen beetle".

"We don't know the sort of things awaiting for us along this adventure, but,
whatever it is, we will face them for the sake of charity".

Sewage system
For the first time in its history Piquiucho has a paved sewage system that runs directly from the houses in the village and is far more hygienic than the previous antiquated system.

Water
In conjunction with the sewage system we are working together with a water supplier so that all the residents can enjoy this pure and vital resource. Thanks to a large investment a fresh water supply is brought in directly from a natural reserve in Bolivar 10 Km. away.

A Medical Centre
Thanks to Ulises De la Cruz and his medical centre, it has been possible to offer daily care for the local residents, who are able to use the facilities for basic check-ups, and other small treatments.

The medical centre has recently been expanded to include a dentist, general doctors and for the first time a delivery room to ensure sanitary conditions for women giving birth.

A small local school
San Gabriel is the name of the school that welcomes 250 children a day....[Read More]
